SKLBPI has undertaken a great number of basic researches of importance and applied basic research projects in agriculture. The Laboratory implemented 226 projects from various sources during 2001 and 2005. 184 were provincial/ministry projects and above and led 138 of the projects. 145 of the projects have been finished. The Laboratory undertook 15 projects through international collaboration. The funds for scientific research increased sharply, from 29.7 million in previous assessment to current 61.537 million RMB. The fund for national projects is account for 77.9% of the total.
