Teams and Scientists

SKLBPI gathered a team of qualified permanent scientists including outstanding leading scientists, experienced researchers, qualified technicians and experienced administration people.

There are 70 permanent staff in the Laboratory. Including 31 Professors, 34 associate professors, 1 senior technician and 4 assistant professors. 76% of the Laboratory members are below 45 years of age and 70% get their PhDs. There are one academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, two chief scientists leading ‘973’ programmes, four scientists at the first class position, six scientists at the second class position, eight scientists at the third class position, one national expert with outstanding contribution, and nine experts with outstanding contribution at the ministry level. These scientists are involved in agricultural entomology, plant pathology, biological control, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, bioinformatics, biosafety of GMOs, invasive alien species and disciplines related to agricultural biosafety. The structure of age and disciplines is equitable and is adequate to enable the Laboratory to take part in the international competition and fulfills the requirement of undertaking the important national programmes for scientific research.
